Getting the most out of your simulation: our tips

A Face Up simulation is a training space: you're allowed to get it wrong, and that's exactly where progress happens. Here are a few tips to make the most of it.

A relaxed learner, headset on, during a simulation

Set yourself up well

  • Choose a quiet place, with no background noise or people passing by.
  • Use a headset with a mic: the sound is clearer and the exchange more natural.
  • Check your equipment on the preparation screen before you start.

Play along

  • Speak out loud and clearly, as in a real conversation.
  • Step into the role: the more you get into it, the more useful the training.
  • Take your time to think before you answer, silences are allowed.
  • Keep an eye on the cheat sheet if the scenario provides one.

Take the pressure off

No one is judging you: not your counterpart, not your debrief. The goal isn't to get it "right" the first time, but to train with confidence and leave with concrete leads. Give it a go, even if it means starting over.
